Duplicating a Moti lets you quickly create a new course that starts as a copy of an existing one. This can be helpful when you want a separate version of a course that you can edit, assign and publish without changing the original. You’ll be able to duplicate your first Moti just by following these simple steps 🌟
What is a duplicate Moti?
A duplicate Moti is a new course that starts as a copy of an existing one. When you duplicate a Moti in Studio:
- A new Moti is created in the same MotiSpace as the original.
- All chapters and content blocks from the original are included in the duplicate.
- Completions and assignments are not copied. The duplicate starts “fresh”, so users must complete it again if you assign it.
You can then edit, assign and publish the duplicate without affecting the original course.
Who can duplicate a Moti?
- Organization Admins can duplicate Motis in their MotiSpace.
- Chief Editors can also duplicate Motis, but they may have some limitations depending on how your organization is set up (for example, on shared content and drafts).
If you are not able to see the option to duplicate a Moti in Studio, please contact your Organization Admin. They can check your access and duplicate the Moti for you if needed. You can also read more about user roles and how they affect your views and access in this article.

Congratulations! You have now successfully duplicated a Moti 🎉
If you only want to reuse parts of a course (for example, a few chapters or content blocks) instead of the whole Moti, you can copy content between Motis instead of duplicating the full course. Please refer to this article for a clear step-by-step guide.
