Insights reporting has been redesigned to provide a simplified, live-data overview of compliance and engagement! The new update focuses on answering core compliance questions and provides easier access to user-level diplomas. The Groups reporting interface has also been upgraded to a tabbed view for easier navigation through sub-organizations. 📊
By shifting to a live-data model and a streamlined tabbed interface, these updates are designed to give you immediate, actionable visibility into your team's training progression. Instead of digging through multiple, long pages, you can now quickly search within specific sub-organizations, track real-time completion ratios, and export compliance data exactly when you need it.
Prerequisites
- Roles: Organization Administrators, Group Admins, and Group Super Admins. Admins can only view data within their assigned scope.
Navigating the views
Learnings Overview
Navigate to: Insights → Learnings → Overview
- Purpose: Get a quick performance snapshot and orientation of learning performance within your admin scope.
- What you’ll find: Your top completed learnings, an average Moti score summary, and a group completions leaderboard.
-
How to use it: Use the filters to adjust the level (e.g., from a specific team up to the country level) to see a quick snapshot before drilling down into detailed reports. Group rows in the leaderboard are clickable and will route you directly to the Groups area.
Learnings Detail
Navigate to: Insights → Learnings → Learnings tab (Select a specific training)
- Purpose: Answer the question, "Who has not completed this training in my scope?"
- What you’ll find: The completion status for a specific learning. This view includes a header with top metrics (Assigned, Started, Completed, and Completion Rate) and features tabbed views for Users and Groups.
- How to use it: Search for a specific learning to see a detailed breakdown of assigned versus completed metrics, and compare completions across different groups. This view counts "effective reach," meaning it deduplicates and counts users whether they were assigned the course directly, via a package, or through a learning path. You can also export these lists for compliance follow-ups.
Completions Reporting
Navigate to: Insights → Learnings → Completions
- Purpose: Access legacy-style, course-based completion data in a simplified view.
- What you’ll find: A chart and/or summary table based entirely on current, live data.
- How to use it: Use this tab to view overall completions with page-based pagination. You can load per-user metrics simply by clicking on a specific row.
User Reporting & Diplomas
Navigate to: Insights → Groups → Users (Select a specific user)
- Purpose: Perform a detailed inspection of a single user's learning status and compliance artifacts.
- What you’ll find: The user's avatar, score badge, and summary metrics. This page includes a Learnings tab (showing their full activity, including Discover-picked learnings) and a Diplomas tab.
- How to use it: View all assigned learnings alongside their status and progression. From the Diplomas tab, you can view and download compliance diplomas course-by-course. For recurring completions, all versions of the diploma will be shown, sorted with the newest first.
Groups Reporting
Navigate to: Insights → Groups
- Purpose: Explore a structured view of your organizational hierarchy and overall group completion scores.
- What you’ll find: A tabbed interface (Groups, Users, Learnings) that displays the Total Group Score and overall completion metrics.
- How to use it: Navigate seamlessly down your group tree. The search functionality is context-aware, meaning it will search within the selected sub-organization. You can easily filter to include or exclude users from subgroups and export your data to PDF, Excel, or CSV.
Things to Keep in Mind
To ensure you get the most out of the new Insights Reporting, please note the following limitations in this release:
-
Live Data Model: To keep your insights relevant, the reporting model relies entirely on live/current data. Because of this, historical "all-time" data reconstruction is not currently available in the Completions tab.
-
Diploma Downloads: In this initial release, diplomas are designed to be viewed and downloaded individually for each user or course. Bulk downloading is deferred to a future update.
-
Simplified Filtering: We are keeping things streamlined for this v1 release. Advanced chart type switching and the Positions filter are currently set aside.
- Data Refresh Times: The Completions tab uses a separate database from the Overview and Learnings tabs to optimize performance. You might notice a slight lag in data refreshes between tabs, but a handy "last refreshed" indicator will always let you know when the data was last synced.
If your reporting data does not look or behave as expected, please contact your administrator or Motimate Support with screenshots of what you see.
